As model making specialists, you’ll find a wide selection of tweezers for your precision work on our online shop.
How can you choose your tweezers ?
Scientific MHD offers a variety of tweezers for a variety of model making uses. Choose between straight, angled, spade, sliding lock, pointed and round-tipped tweezers.
Straight tweezers are classic but provide great precision and are remarkably effective. For an even better grip, go for a straight pair with a wider tip. The cross lock tweezers will allow you to hold the parts without having to hold them together and will remain closed until you squeeze them together again. Angled tweezers will make it easier to grasp and handle the small parts of your models. The 90°angular tipped micro tweezers will really come in handy for making adjustments in those difficult, hard-to-reach angles. Micro tweezers have thin straight edges and are perfectly small enough to fit into the tightest places. The spade tweezers will facilitate the hold of the small parts without damaging them as their wide tips can grip objects well.
The 45°curved micro tweezers are also very useful for handling small objects. Its 45° angle will allow you to grasp the parts of your model with precision in hard-to-reach areas, such as the cockpit of an aircraft. The slide lock micro tweezers are ideal for adjusting the level of tension according to the use. The curved cross lock tweezers are recommended for gripping very thin, small and light objects. Precision tweezers with pointed tips will help you handle wires and strings, for example, when stringing model boats. Finally, round-tipped tweezers will enable you to gently place small items with maximum precision and accuracy.
What about maintenance ?
Tweezers do not require any specific maintenance. However, it is advisable to store them in a suitable case to prevent the tips becoming damaged. Be mindful that tweezers are sharp objects and you should therefore be careful when using them near your eyes. Because of their small size, they can also be quite easy to lose and storing them nicely in an appropriate place is a necessary to ensure you always have this handy bit of kit available at all times.
