Scale model aircraft: from airliners to Rafales
Is the scale of a model associated with a particular type of aircraft? The answer is yes and no! Let's just say that the first factor to take into account to guide your choice is how much space do you have to display it. Note that a model of an Airbus or Boeing commercial aircraft in the 1:200 scale category (therefore 200 times smaller than the original), is not necessarily smaller than a 1:24 scale model of a US Air Force aircraft. The original size of the real aircraft that the model is based on is different. That is why the larger aircraft are mainly listed in the 1:144 and 1:200 scale categories. Here you can find airliners including the Peach Airbus A320 neo in kit form to be glued together and painted and this is the method for almost all the models available on the Scientific MHD website! We also offer a wide range of acrylic paints, camouflage paints, glues, thinners, acrylic primers, brushes and even airbrushes.
In addition to these aircraft models, which many of us have already flown in, you can also find other large and equally interesting models in the 1:200 and 1:144 categories. This is the case of the USAF B-47 306th BW, a nuclear bomber dating from the Cold War. Or the F-4E PHANTOM II, one of the most important American military aircraft of the 20th century, which was mass-produced during the Vietnam War. Does this sound appealing? If so, you won’t be disappointed with the legendary French Rafale.
From the finishing touches to the presentation of the model aircraft
Military aviation is a major inspiration for Scientific MHD’s model manufacturers who work hard to bring you such a fine collection. Hundreds of military aircraft models are available, from different countries and decades. We offer models with propellers or jet engines and some even come with little extras for even more fun. This is the case for the Bf109F-4 TROPICAL, which comes with a figure whose head can be moved to different positions, and another model comes with a figure of Hans Joachim Marseille, a pilot who fought in the Luftwaffe during the Second World War and was famous for his aerial victories and chivalrous attitude towards authority. Other models such as the USN F3F-2 VF-6 Fighting Six are presented with different decoration boards (5 in this case) to allow you to customise your models as you wish.
Once you have put your model aircraft together, you might like to consider the display options. Opt for a rotating or non-rotating presentation tray, or even a display case with or without a LED projector. Scientific MHD strives to meet your needs and requirements.
