Quality scale model trains
HobbyBoss is one of the best-known model makers and has diversified their products with aircraft (helicopters, aeroplanes...) HobbyBoss also specialises in military vehicles and is one of the few manufacturers to produce modern French army model vehicles. This is also true for trains. Which is why Scientific MHD offers many military train models such as the Dora Railway Gun, a model made from 20 moulds and comprising around 1,800 parts. The gun is over 1 metre long and 21 cm wide, which makes this particular model truly exceptional. This is also true for the other models available, most of which are produced on a 1:72 scale in kit form for you to assemble and paint.
We also offer a wide range of paints, specially designed for model making to really stand the test of time. More than 150 acrylic colours are available, including the "camouflage" set to paint your trains according to whichever scene that comes into your imagination.
How do you start building your scale model train ?
Railway modelling is an art that is rather more complex than it seems and requires experience in the field. We therefore recommend that you start with an easier model that is suitable for beginners which you will find detailed on our website. You can also refer to online opinions posted by enthusiasts who have already worked on several of these models.
You'll need to be well equipped, especially if you tackle the German Kriegslokomotive Lokomotiv Br52. This model will be the perfect addition to your WWII scene, in addition to planes, figures and other models available on our website for this period. The attention to detail is clear with the superb reproduction of the bogies, pipes, and the side windows of the driver's cab, making this locomotive model wonderfully realistic. What's more, it is available in two versions, the armoured war version and civil version in red and black. A true marvel! Keep in mind that this is a difficult train model to assemble.
We would also suggest making an inventory list of the tools needed for assembly before you start. You'll need a desk lamp to light your workbench, a set of small precision screwdrivers (depending on the model), plastic glue and tweezers to handle the wheels and gears. Once armed, you should assess how much space you will need to set up and build your model train. The surface necessary for the assembly must definitely be greater than the dimensions of the machine. A good tip to not lose any of the parts and assembly bits is to only take out those that are needed as you go along. Remember, even if these parts are small, they are still essential to the construction of your model train.
