The chance Vought F4u Corsair is a military plane, manufactured by the United States, used from the Second World War until 1968. It is one of the best known devices of the Second World War, notably thanks At the television series Les Têtes burned. He was essentially illustrated in the Pacific, serving both in the US Navy and the US Marine Corps. In the rank of French aeronavals units, thanks to the Military Assistance Program (MAP), 25 AU-1 from the USMC entered service from January 15, 1953 and were used in Indochina, the survivors returning to the States- United in late 1954, thus 94 Corsair F4U-7 specially built for France (79 in 1952, 15 in 1953) during the Algerian War as well as during the Suez crisis with the musketeer operation. He was thus the first plane to equip the 17F flotilla.\nAll the French corsair were withdrawn from the service at the end of 1964. Some were exhibited in museums and others were acquired by enthusiasts of ancient aircraft.\n
