This boat was built at the Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and it received the pseudonym of \"Monterey\". Italian/Sicilian immigrant craftsmen of the Bay of San Francisco modeled the \"Monterey\" from the Latin sailing felic, a traditional transport boat on the Mediterranean, with the modifications required for the installation of a petrol engine . This 1928 version, of which Angelo Ghio was the owner, has all the characteristics of a real \"Monterey\". A few thousand of these boats were built in 1910 at 1950 and some still sail.
